If you were a kid in Australia during the '80s or '90s, there’s a good chance Fads Fun Sticks (formerly known as FAGS) made it into your Milk Bar candy haul. These sweet little musk-flavoured candy sticks were the ultimate pretend play treat, red-tipped like mini cigarettes, we'd lounge in bean bags “smoking” them like tiny rebels. We didn’t know better (shock, horror!), we just knew they tasted great and made us feel a bit grown-up.

Originally linked to smoking when it was still strangely seen as cool, these treats have since had a glow-up. The red tip was removed, the name was changed, and now they live on as Fads, just as sweet, minus the controversy. So, we decided to immortalise this cheeky little piece of Aussie history on a tea towel.
