• Blank canvas 46 x 61cm (18 x 24 inch)
• Hammer (just in case a staple needs a little extra push)

Step 1 – Prepare Your Tea Towel

Start by carefully unpicking all four edges of your tea towel. This step removes the stitched hems, allowing the fabric to lay completely flat and giving you more surface area to work with.

Take your time and use an unpicker to gently loosen the threads without damaging the fabric. Once all edges are undone, you’ll notice the tea towel looks smoother and more like a flat piece of material, perfect for stretching over your canvas in the next steps.
