Father's Day Play Ideas for indoor Lockdown Fun at Home 🏠
With Father's Day coming up next weekend we wanted to make sure all Dad's are feeling extra special this year.
Some of our fabulous Dad's might be stuck in lockdown but we still want to make it a special day for them. Here are some fun play ideas and inspiration for making Dad's day great for whoever you might be celebrating this year.
Make your own special letters for Dad or use out NEW iconic post box craft kit and send Dad a special letter of love & gratitute.
The snail-mail lovers in your home will love this wood-based craft kit. It includes all the bits and pieces you need for an engaging crafternoon with your kids. Start by decorating your own postcards and envelopes, then add the clipboard, receipts and parcel slips for hours of post-office play with friends. Designed for play with our Iconic Post Box, but just as fun when all you have is your imagination!
Let Dad sleep in and then check his pulse stat! We need a doctor in the house to save the day, so make sure you have this wooden iconic Doctors Kit on hand. Set-up a hospital scene at home and let your child’s imagination go with Dad! This fantastic role play kit helps children to become familiar with medical care, making trips to the doctor less painful for everyone. It also promotes imaginative play and encourages nurturing behaviour and empathy — after all, Daddy needs some help with her broken leg! We made our kit gender-neutral to celebrate the fact that these days anyone can aspire to be a doctor or nurse.
If Dad does not like doctors then maybe a more natural approach might be needed. Looking after the little scrapes and bruises that come from a day’s adventuring can be simple as a trip to the garden or the kitchen cupboard if you have your favourite natural products well stocked. Healing can entail different things in families that might have a more natural-minded, holistic view of life. Sometimes those aching muscles, scraped shins and energetic little bodies need only the simple things. Soothe Dad's pretend bruises with Arnica Cream, or keep Dad healthy with Vitamin C or Bone Broth soup. Practice at home what you preach to your own family. Dad might just only need some Boo Boo Lotion to make him feel better today!
Tea parties always lift our mood and Dad might just need a cuppa to feel better. We love drinking up a pretend almond chai or a skinny mocha latte. Mmmmmmmm yum ( wish it was the real thing). There once was a time when we didn't order a skinny chai latte or a soy flat white. Coffee or tea was it. We actually prefer a really really really milky tea with lots of sugar or just a regular chai latte. Today's 3-year old Barista's will grow up with all the new cafe lingo and why not practice with Dad at home..

But a good host should always serve Dad first. Manners are important these days, "how many sugars Daddy?". This tea set is designed to sit loud and proud on your coffee table next to your designer coffee table books. It's stylish just like your little Barista in the making, and not pink or blue for only boys or girls. Ahhhhhh sit back and pass me a cuppa. And we like things neat, so we also have designed a beautiful cardboard box to pack your tea set away in afterwards.
We are all dreaming on that next get away. Someday we might even get to get on a plane and travel again one day??!!! Who knows! In the meantime, why not create your own adventure with places we are all dreaming about. It does not take much to put a few things together and let your imagination go a little.
Set up a Aussie Outback adventure with all your Aussie Animal's. Use wooden cutting boards and some sand and create the outback we are all dying to see!
I can see you Daddy! Go hiding around the home and then let Daddy hunt for you. This was always a fun game for us back in the day!
