Kids birthday parties can be really fun to plan. But it's always hard to know what to put in the party bags! If you hate giving excess lollies or cheap toys that will only be put into landfill, why not invest in some small wooden toys that will last much longer and that kids will actually want to play with and keep. To help you out, we have put together some fun party bag crafting ideas for your next birthday.
HOW TO MAKE
What you will need:
- Various types of Containers that you might have. Here we have used a carboard box, a plastic tub and a drink cup
- Pipe cleaners
- Ribbon, string, curling ribbon
- Tissue paper
- Confetti
- Decorations such as cardboard glitter letters
- Hot Glue Gun
- Scissors
- Small wooden toys from our Iconic Loose Change range online at www.makemeiconic.com
Step 1:
Curl some ribbon with you scissors and create a little bunch that will sit nicely on the side of your paper box. Attach the ribbon with some hot glue to the side.
Step 2:
Using a hot glue gun again add a "cardboard glitter letter" to the front of the box. You could use a letter for each of your guests so they know which party bag is for them!
Step 3:
How easy was that and only take a few minutes! Now that you have finished simple add some small wooden toys as a great alternative to sweets and plastic toys that might not get used and added to our landfill problem.
This pink paper party bag sits nicely in any place you might decide to display them "on show". By adding a letter initial to each one your party guests will know who's-is-who's without the big squabble at the end. Add some simple crayons and even a colour-in sheet from an old colouring-in book that is almost finished.
This blue party gift bag bucket idea fits lot more wooden toys in here. Sometimes size does really matter! Add some coloured tissue paper to help prop up toys so you can position the bigger ones at the back. It's easy to add small wooden toys to this one and here we have used our iconic pick up sticks, iconic paddleball, iconic dominoes, iconic spinning top and iconic mini tram. Use plastic containers that you might already have at home or pop into your local discount store to find matching ones in your colour theme.
This party bag is just super cool and fun. We have used here a simple paper cup and added a pipe cleaner as a handle. Simple fill with the small wooden toys that you like and throw in a few sweets for good luck. Top this one off with some cool sunglasses and you will have one very cool party bag for all your guests.
